Sophomore Year Summer 2010
• Take classes necessary to help complete associates degree
• Keep up with on-line classes as kids will be spending the summer here
• Work to bring up GPA as to apply for bachelor’s program for Respiratory Therapy
• Work to manage stress between home life and school
Fall 2010
• Take classes necessary to complete associates degree by end of semester
• October apply for Respiratory Therapy degree through Weber State
• Research classes needed and work them best into schedule with “life”
• Research options for CNA programs offered in the community
• Explore options for a job in the health industry
• Talk to counselors about options for teaching certificate
• Possibly change up and get teaching certificate while putting off respiratory therapy for a year in order to keep teaching and exploring school counseling opportunities
Spring 2011 (Free Semester)
• First semester transferred back to WSU take any classes that are part of the program that are available at UVU campus
• Take classes of interest
• Take time to be sure of specialized care
• Enjoy first and last easy semester before program begins
Summer 2011 (First Semester off since starting Spring 2009)
• Enjoy time with kids
• Work in health field as much as possible to save up for school year
• Job shadow where possible in the respiratory therapy field to determine needs of specializing
Junior Year Fall 2011
• First semester of Respiratory Therapy degree
• Arrange schedule for program at UVRMC
• Make school top priority to ensure good grades
Spring 2012
• Keep in constant contact with program directors to ensure on task for graduation in program within 2 years
• Stay involved in health field (create opportunities for future/relationships)
• Build confidence and reputation as great health care employee
Senior Year Summer 2012 Make it count
• Find opportunities to move up within health field
• Take time to find internships or opportunities to find the “right” atmosphere for me
• Confirm what is needed to finish the program in the next two semesters
Fall 2012
• Schedule half of what is needed to complete degree
• Take time for job fairs and start interviewing for possible jobs
• Collect letters of recommendations
Spring 2013 Final Semester Graduation
• Final classes needed for graduation
• Focus on school (don’t lose focus last semester)
• If not already set up for job in field continue to check out all opportunities
• Continue to research possibilities of further investment in degrees (possible Master’s program)
